It has shown its most authentic side, less glossy and seaside. It has revealed views to be admired all year round, strictly at a “slow pace”. Above all, it has received approval. Sardinia has shone in the evocative setting of the Agritravel fair, an event that has reached its tenth edition and which closed on Sunday evening in Bergamo. The Island, at its first official participation in the event, has stood out among villages, paths, crafts and flavors.

New story

A dedicated stand. Then, a rich calendar of events to fuel a new narrative of the Island: a land to be discovered slowly, village after village, where the cultural, landscape and identity heritage intertwines with conscious and profound travel experiences. "Our participation in the fair is part of a broader strategy aimed at building a solid and recognizable tourist offer, capable of positioning itself strongly in the international market", declared the regional councilor for Tourism, Franco Cuccureddu. At the center of this strategy is the project for the certification of the villages of Sardinia, already started with an initial network of fifteen centers recognized at national and international level, with the aim of enhancing small municipalities as drivers of tourism development linked to the quality of life, history, culture and landscape. In fact, a path that marries with the Paths and Pilgrimage Destinations, key elements of a tourist proposal capable of speaking to the hearts of travelers. Councilor Cuccureddu was also the protagonist of the conference "The importance of networking", hosted in the Arena Bell'Italia. An opportunity for national discussion on the strategic value of collaboration between territories. The representative of the Regional Council specified: «Sardinia is firmly focused on networking: it is through connection and collaboration that we can enhance our peculiarities, deseasonalise the offer and make ourselves more competitive at a national and international level, strengthening the positioning of the Island also in the panorama of experiential and sustainable tourism».

Walkers

A fair dedicated to “slow” and sustainable tourism. Bergamo also hosted the presentation of the project “We walk in Sardinia”, now in its fourth edition, scheduled from October 1st to 5th. “Traveling at a slow pace - underlined Renato Tomasi, regional manager for the promotion of the Walks - is today one of the most authentic keys to discovering Sardinia. The 2025 edition will be even richer and deeply connected to the Jubilee Year”. Weaving plots, establishing fruitful agreements. At Agritravel, the island representatives met international buyers. A precious opportunity to publicize the quality of Sardinia's tourist offering and build new commercial synergies, capable of consolidating the Island's presence in the world circuits of slow tourism.

Laboratori

Tourism agreements, but not only. The events at the Sardinia stand were also a great success. In particular, the food and wine workshops curated by Slow Food, with Raimondo Mandis, Chiara Cogotti, Ivo Palazzari and Michelangelo Salis. They offered the public an immersive experience in the authentic flavors of the island: from traditional pastas, such as “sa fregula” and culurgiones, to typical sweets, oil and Sardinian pigs, to flavored honey. Obviously, the wines of the territory. In short, Sardinia leaves Bergamo and comes together. It outlines a “slow pace” future.
