With the easing of the pandemic situation, Sardinia recorded an increase in bookings both for the summer and last-minute in the non-hotel sector, especially with regard to foreign tourism.

There is also an increase in stays in the low season, especially in the towns. This is the “photograph” taken to date by Estay, the startup specializing in the management of holiday home rentals in Sardinia.

"Finally we are heading towards a season of normality, after two years of restrictions - says Nicola Sabiu, co-founder of Estay -. Although 2021 saw excellent occupancy rates in the summer months, at this time of the year we were in red zone and the reservations arrived only starting from June. In 2022 we are finally able to move in advance, thanks to the easing of the entry restrictions and the confidence in the resumption of international travel. It is precisely the foreign tourists who are booking our structures, bringing us + 450% compared to the same period last year ".

"We are receiving bookings not only for the high season, but also for the months of October and November in predominantly seaside resorts - he continues -. The nationalities most inclined to this type of holiday are above all those from North Europe, who seek relaxation and well-being of the splendid areas of Sardinia in less crowded periods ".

In the peak months, customers come mainly from France, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom for 70% of bookings; for the remaining 30% it is Italian local tourism.
