The "Paths of Sardinia" are enriched by a new proposal, announced today by the regional councilor for tourism, Gianni Chessa. This is the "Way of Sant'Efisio, a project that - explained the exponent of the Giunta Solinas - was born in full harmony between the councilorship, the Sardinian Bishops' Conference, the Diocese of Cagliari, the Archconfraternity of Sant'Efisio and the five municipal administrations involved in the Way.

"The goal is to arrive by October to define a 'devotional itinerary', shared by the ecclesiastical and institutional parties, along the suggestive pilgrimage route that winds from Cagliari to the Romanesque church on the beach of Nora, a place of martyrdom, with intermediate stages in Capoterra, Sarroch, Villa San Pietro and Pula. We aim to define an itinerary proposal and experience the first 'walk' on the occasion of the 'Week of Walks', scheduled from 4 to 8 October and called' We walk in Sardinia ', an event intended to promote the island as a' land of paths in the national and international scenario. Once the itinerary has been tested, we will move on to the governance phase with the establishment of the Foundation of the Way of Sant'Efisio ", explained Chessa.

It will be an institutional table between Diocese, Archconfraternity and Municipalities, with the coordination of the Regional Tourism Department to prepare the itinerary with the definition of kilometers and stages. The route will be usable all year round and will be different from that of the traditional procession in honor of Sant'Efisio, but with some points in common: starting from Cagliari you will meet the fishing village of Giorgino, then the coast of La Maddalena beach and the historic residence of Villa d'Orri in Capoterra; we will continue in the territories of Sarroch, Villa San Pietro and Pula, concluding in the place of the martyrdom of the Saint, the millenary church of Sant'Efisio, in Nora.
