Alghero was the most visited Sardinian city by tourists in 2024.

The ranking was drawn up by Eager Analytics , through the tourist app Heart of Sardinia, which released the third report entitled " Sardinia HoS Travel Trends".

In second place in the ranking is Cagliari, in third Olbia and in the top 10 there are also Dorgali (+20%), Arzachena (+19%) and San Teodoro (+18%). The greatest increase compared to 2023 was recorded in Sassari: +95%.

The report also contains data on tourism during the last holidays, which saw – especially on New Year's Eve – the Island as the scene of large concerts. According to estimates, Olbia was the island's "capital" of New Year's tourism, with a growth of 47% compared to the winter average of visitors. In second place was Castelsardo , with an increase in tourists of 43%, while Alghero stopped at +28%.

The absolute numbers recorded reward Olbia, Alghero and Cagliari in order, with the capital registering a growth of 17% compared to the winter average).

According to the report, the New Year's effect on travel in Sardinia lasts a total of 4 days: the frequency of spending between December 30th and January 5th was 62% higher than the seasonal average.
