The first stage of the 30th Giro della Sardegna has concluded, the 189km route from Castelsardo to Bosa . Nicolò Garibbo of Team Ukyo crossed the finish line first.

At the end of a four-man sprint, the Ligurian cyclist edged out his fellow breakaway riders: former Italian champion Filippo Zana (Soudal QuickStep) finished second. After crossing the finish line, the 26-year-old from Imperia, his first professional victory, couldn't hold back the tears. Tomorrow's second stage, 136.3 km from Oristano to Carbonia , takes place.
