Torres is thinking of Marchionni to replace the Greco coach
The coach won the D in Novara and previously led Foggia into the playoffs
The 42-year-old Marco Marchionni could be the replacement for Alfonso Greco at the helm of the Sassari team. According to some rumors from radio mercarto, Torres would have already had some contact with Marchionni, who last season led Novara to Serie C and had been confirmed, but then the relations were interrupted due to differences on the preparation of the team. Marchionni should therefore free himself from the Piedmontese club if the negotiation with Sassari is closed.
Born in 1980, Marco Marchionni had a good career as a midfielder: over 250 appearances in Serie A for Parma (where he won the 2022 Coppa Italia), Piacenza, Juventus and Fiorentina. In the curriculum also six appearances in the senior national team.
As a coach he started as Baldini's assistant at Carrarese becoming head coach in Foggia where two years ago he obtained ninth place and passed the first round of the playoffs. Then the move to Novara and the victory of the Serie D championship.
