The Regional Council Election Committee has begun working on the case of the dismissal of Alessandra Todde requested by the electoral guarantee college of the Court of Appeal of Cagliari.
The body chaired by Giuseppe Frau (and composed of 9 members, 5 of the majority and 4 of the opposition) has the task of building an investigation through the evaluation of the merits of the provision notified on January 3 and the acquisition of useful elements and data. The Council could decide to listen to the President of the Region.
At the end of this work, she will have to report to the Chamber. To do so, she has ninety days from the moment she became aware of the act.
In the meantime, the governor's Sardinian lawyers are preparing the appeal against the injunction order of the Court of Appeal that will be presented to the ordinary court. When it is filed, presumably within this week, as is usual practice, the Election Committee could decide to stop the preliminary investigation phase pending a ruling.
