This is how Alessandra Todde, President of the Sardinia Region, reacts to the government's decision to eliminate the 2027 tax for certain car categories.

"There's something Sardinian citizens need to know," he continues. "The stamp duty cut means less revenue for the regions and therefore fewer resources available to finance regional services and policies. We're talking about hundreds of millions of euros that could be diverted from regional planning, transportation, healthcare, and schools."

According to Todde, "It's easy to announce a tax cut when the money is being put up by others and the bill is passed on. That's why the question is very simple: who's really paying for the car tax cut and which services will have to forgo those resources."
