Thirteenths unpaid, Sider Alloys and GMS workers go on strike
«Unkept promises»: strike called for all processes, with overtime and availability blocked
Sider Alloys and Gms have not yet paid their thirteenth payments, and the mobilization begins.
Blocking of overtime and availability and immediate strike of all processes "to request the immediate payment of the amount due and arrive in normal conditions at the meeting on January 18th".
The mobilization was proclaimed by Fiom, Fsm, Uilm and Cub at the end of the workers' assembly which took place this morning at the gates of the Portovesme factory.
«Sideralloys and GMS deny their own reassurances. Before the Christmas holidays they had guaranteed the workers the payment of the thirteenth salary, with the December salary (usually paid on the 12th of the following month) and yet at the moment there is still no trace of the payments due, despite the fact that in the meantime the summons to Mimit has arrived - we read in the note from the unions -. A state of alarm, which adds to the job losses implemented by the two companies."
