Mourning in the world of culture in Sardinia. The Cagliari painter Mirko Pais died last night after losing his battle with a bad disease. The 70-year-old artist was a cardiologist and had always had a great passion for painting.

“He was able to project his art also in medicine, touching, as with his paintings, the hearts of people - says his son Stefano - A life dedicated to the enhancement of the female figure in all its facets and to helping others”.

First an engraver, then a painter, he has always been highly appreciated: in December 2008 a personal exhibition of his was set up at the Lazzaretto: "On that occasion - continues Stefano Pais - an illustrious critic approached his painting to the young Dalì, while others, especially for the attention to space, and to the architecture that sets his portraits, they saw elements that would make us think of De Chirico ”. An embossed copper panel created by Pais has for many years been placed in the entrance hall of the Rai Regional Headquarters in Cagliari; other works make a fine show of themselves in various public and private venues ”.

The funeral is scheduled for tomorrow at 10 in the church of San Giorgio and Santa Caterina in Cagliari.
