While bombings and killings continue in Ukraine, the stars of the dance carry a message of hope and peace in Sardinia too. It is the Ukraine Gran Gala Ballet that opens the CeDac-branded Grande Danza season. It starts tomorrow at 21 at the Teatro Comunale in Sassari while the Teatro Massimo in Cagliari hosts two shows: Saturday 21 January at 20.30 and Sunday 22 January at 19.

In the spotlight are internationally renowned dance stars such as Olga Golitsya and Jan Vana, Lina Volodina and Oleksii Potomkin.

Focus on the great masterpieces of the history of ballet , between dizzying solos and captivating pas de deux, for a precious anthology that includes the creations of the great masters and the original choreographies of contemporary authors: from an enchanting duet from "La Sylphide" , the famous ballet blanc on libretto by Adolphe Nourrit, in Pas d'Esclave from “Le Corsaire ” by Adolphe-Charles Adam, inspired by a poem by Lord Byron.

And again a pas de deux from “La Esmeralda” , from “Notre Dame de Paris” by Victor Hugo, with choreography by Marius Petipa, with Oleksii Potomkin and Lina Volodina and “The Unnamed Feelings” , a “solo” by Jan Vana; while Olga Golytsia dances “The Dying Swan” by Mikhail Fokine.
