“It is not possible to describe the immense pain caused by the death of Francesco. He passed away, leaving a priceless void in all of us: his voice, his talent as a multi-instrumentalist and singer, his charisma on stage left their mark on all those who saw him perform at least once". So the Olbia band of Cordas et Cannas, a week after the death of Francesco Pilu , wanted to publicly remember their traveling and artistically talented companion.

A memory of the man and the musician and thanks to all those who wanted to express their condolences and gather around the band.

“On this sad occasion, the Cordas et Cannas group, Bruno, Lorenzo, Sandro, Alain, Gianluca, Antonio - reads the brief note - together with the Musicultura Sardegna Association, take this opportunity to thank all the people (artists and ) who wanted to express (publicly and privately) their emotion and condolences from every part of Sardinia, from Italy and from abroad".

Francesco Pilu, writes the band, "will live in everyone's memory, thanks also to the recordings and the numerous artistic collaborations that he has been able to enrich with his interventions. In 44 years of activity (since the band's inception with Gesuino Deiana and Andreino Marras) Francesco has been a pillar in all musical projects and live concerts, a finisher, an excellent front-man, a communicator and also the spokesperson for a feel philosophical about music and life, contributing to the success that the band has had in Sardinia and in the world, coming to represent our island all over the globe, including the most remote corners. Frantziscu, like all of Sardinia whose wonders you have sung about, we will always be grateful to you - conclude the Cordas - We, for our part, will never be able to forget you".
