The table on Portovesme srl has been convened for tomorrow afternoon at the Ministry of Economic Development. This was announced by Alessandra Todde , vice minister and vice president of the 5 Star Movement, just re-elected deputy in Sardinia.

The summit will be attended by "all the actors involved".

"The last goal of the work we did was to provide an answer to energy problems, including the Portovesme srl plant, with the Energy Release, guaranteeing an energy price of 210 euros / MWh (which can be adjusted with market conditions more favorable), but even before that with the tax credit for energy-intensive companies, progressively raised to 40% for the months of October and November - observes Todde - All this was not enough for Portovesme srl to announce not only that zinc production it will not return to pre-crisis values but that it is even the company's intention to interrupt the lead line in San Gavino and Portoscuso. It is not conceivable that when energy prices are at their lowest and raw material prices at their highest, profits are privatized and at the first market reversals, the losses are discharged on welfare and on the shoulders of workers ".

The deputy minister also adds: “The 5 Star Sardinia Movement is close to the direct and indirect workers of Portovesme srl. It was when he was in charge of the country, he demonstrated it during the elections, presenting himself with his candidates at the entrance of the plant, and he will be there in the future as well. The position of the 5 Star Movement has always been that of maintaining existing industrial assets but with a strong focus on developing technologies and processes on new and less impactful productions on the environment. Therefore, the ongoing evaluations by Glencore (owner of Portovesme srl, ed) on new productions and future experiments are welcome ", concludes Todde.
