The stars of music in the Cedrino valley
In the five towns of the lower Barony the protagonists are Tenores di Bitti, Melodias Arkanas, Tazenda, the Gospel of Nate Brown, the Urisè female choir, Durusia and Piero Marras
Great events will enliven the lower Barony during the Christmas period until the penultimate of the year.
«Thanks to regional funding, the Union of Valle del Cedrino Municipalities - explains the President of the Institution Luca Monne - has set up, in collaboration with the Intermezzo Association and the Bflat of the Domina edizioni Musicali Association, a very full program of appointments with famous artists which will begin in Onifai and end in Loculi on 30 December".
The event will open with the inaugural concert on Saturday 23 December in Onifai, which is also the leader of the Union with the very young Mayor Luca Monne.
In the municipal premises of Largo San Giorgio at 8pm, a celebration of popular traditions: enchanting dances, sounds and songs with the Tenores "Remunnu 'e Locu" from Bitti, perhaps the most famous tenor group in the world, and the multifaceted Melodias Arkanas from Tonino Pira and the exceptional acoustic concert with I Tazenda, a historic group and author of immortal masterpieces.
Second appointment on the 25th in Galtellì with the Christmas Gospel Concert at the Church of San Pietro at 6 pm.
Mayor Franco Solinas has planned a rich day which will feature the famous American gospel group Nate Brown & One Voice, among the most popular interpreters of African-American music in the world.
Nate Brown & One Voice will liven up Boxing Day in Orosei in a highly evocative event wanted by Mayor Elisa Farris which will be held at the Church of San Giacomo starting at 7pm.
Opening: the Urisè Female Choir directed by Daniela Contu, one of the island's musical excellences.
The Italian tour of Nate Brown & One Voice will also stop in Irgoli on Wednesday 27 December at 7.30 pm at the Church of San Nicola, a traditional event with music during the holiday period that the civic administration led by Ignazio Porcu has set up for joy of the many enthusiasts and tourists who will be present between Christmas and New Year.
The closing will be on Saturday 30th at 8pm in Loculi where the Mayor Alessandro Luche has thought of a great Sardinian gala hosted in Sa Domo de Sas Artes with Durusia, and their amazing interpretations to dance and sing all together, and the concert of one of the giants of Sardinian music, Piero Marras.
