The former diplomat from Cagliari Maurizio Dessalvi presents his first book , "Il laccio e il venom", in Quartu as part of the " QuARTu tra Saperi e Sapori " Festival.

The appointment with the event , directed by Simone Onnis, is for tonight at 6pm at the former Capuchin Convent . After Maria Francesca Chiappe, who fascinated the public with her latest work for Castelvecchi, “Ostaggio”, an exciting mystery set in Cagliari, we change genre with Maurizio Dessalvi, an island writer but a citizen of the world due to his international tours as an Italian teacher and responsible for various Italian Cultural Institutes spread across the five continents.

“The snare and the poison. Rise and fall of a woman at the time of the Terrible Event", published by Aracne, is the first literary effort by Dessalvi who decided to give life to a fictionalized reconstruction of the events of the Florentine Acciaiuoli family. Given the scarcity and contradictory nature of the sources, the author has established plausible facts within a real historical context.

From Cagliari, Maurizio Dessalvi studied at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and at the University of Florence. For years he taught French in Italian schools and was a teacher of Italian at the University for Foreigners of Siena and at the Somali National University (UNS) in Mogadishu as well as a lecturer in Italian language and literature at the University of Granada and University of Costa Rica. Subsequently he held the position of Cultural Affairs Attaché at the Italian Cultural Institutes of Athens, Brussels and Haifa.

“QuARTu tra Saperi e Sapori”, the project in which the presentation is part, is an initiative sponsored by the municipality of Quartu Sant'Elena within the general program of the Civic Administration, led by the Mayor Graziano Milia, “Rethinking the and the cities - Cultural Activities, Entertainment and Art”.
