The Italian Army, with the band of the “Sassari” Brigade and the fanfare of the 3rd Bersaglieri Regiment, participated in the “Festa della Musica”, a traditional European event that celebrates the summer solstice through the dissemination of musical culture in all its forms. The event, now in its thirty-first edition, had as its theme this year “The professions of music”, with the aim of valorizing the numerous professions that revolve around the world of music.
As per tradition, the band of the “Sassari” Brigade performed in Cagliari, at the Mediateca del Mediterraneo. The group, composed of 30 musicians directed by the adjutant sergeant major Andrea Cardia, proposed a varied program that included military marches, original pieces for band and arrangements of famous melodies, gaining wide acclaim from the audience in attendance.
In Piazza Aldo Moro, seat of the municipality of Sant'Anna Arresi, it was the turn of the fanfare of the 3rd Bersaglieri regiment, composed of 17 elements and directed by Marshal Mattia Sotgiu, who involved the audience with its characteristic sounds, proposing a repertoire of songs and music of the Bersaglieri tradition, known for its pressing rhythm and martial style. Both concerts ended with “Dimonios”, the famous anthem of the “Red Devils”, which aroused particular emotion and participation among those present.
