There are 55 teams registered for the 2023 World Championship in the RS21 sailing class. Which from tomorrow to Saturday will put on a show in the waters of Porto Rotondo.

For the first time in Italy, the event will involve the protagonists of great sailing from 12 countries and 4 continents, and an organizational machine that sees at the forefront the Yacht Club of Porto Rotondo with the Navy, World Sailing, Italian Sailing Federation, Coni and the organization of the RS21 Italian Class, which is keen to confirm the title of World Champion, held by the Italian owner and helmsman Gianluca Grisoli with his “Beyond Freedom” (Cnan Alassio).

In what is also the first ISO 20121:2013 certified World Cup, as it was designed and built in Sardinia, an "Under 23" World title will also be awarded - another first time. «The anticipation in the village of Porto Rotondo is feverish: we haven't hosted an event of this magnitude for a decade, and I don't hide the emotion», intervenes the president and commodore of the Porto Rotondo Yacht Club Sandro Onofaro. «We are ready to welcome the racers with our services in an ideal period of the year for racing due to weather, sea, climate and the tourist season, which has not yet ended».

To celebrate the RS21 World Championship, the Porto Rotondo Yacht Club and the Porto Rotondo Consortium, together with Poste Italiane, have prepared a philatelic postmark accompanied by a collection of postcards: meeting on Saturday, from 12pm to 6pm, in the square of the Porto Rotondo Yacht Club, where it will be possible to stamp the correspondence presented at the Poste Italiane station set up here with the special stamp.
