The Regional Council approved the summer budget of approximately €2.50 (thirty votes in favor and thirteen against). This measure, announced at the beginning of the year and approved by the Regional Council in April, has grown in value over the months, partly due to the recognition of increased revenue from the Ministry of the Economy.

Of the funds, one billion is earmarked entirely for healthcare—the 318 million to fill the deficits of the local health authorities (ASL ) are particularly significant. The rest of the most significant measures are in the areas of education, personnel (60 million for the single sector and 23 million for the Forestry Corps), local authorities with an increase in the single fund, and public works.

Of particular note is the significant amount of resources earmarked for reducing university tuition fees and nursery school fees, as well as for the ERSU (Education and Social Services) in Cagliari and Sassari —approximately €160 million in total, €250 million for the entire package covering culture, sport, education, and the right to university education.

The €30 million investment in the merger of Sardinia's airports, as well as the salary increase for council staff, remain unresolved.

For Budget Councillor Giuseppe Meloni, "after many months of preparation, it is a source of great satisfaction to finally be able to approve it. Thanks to everyone's collaboration. It is important to release this huge amount of resources: €2.5 billion. Most of it is earmarked for 2026."

For FdI group leader Paolo Truzzu, " a great opportunity has been wasted, the greatest in the last 15 years."
