Cagliari exhibits the works of eight young Sardinian artists on the occasion of the "Artexarte" widespread art exhibition , now in its 2023 edition.

The initiative – presented today by the Councilor for Culture, Maria Dolores Picciau – will involve some commercial activities in the central via Paoli , which this year receives the baton from via Garibaldi, where the last edition was held. The works of the island 's talents will be on show until March 12 .

The use of unusual spaces to host the works makes it possible to «revive not only the productive belt of our city but also to give young Sardinian artists the opportunity to exhibit their productions. Thus, citizens of Cagliari and tourists will have the possibility, while shopping, of approaching the figurative arts , involving a wider public», explains Picciau. It will also be an opportunity to " combine beauty and art with people's daily lives , which in the meantime offer a great showcase for many artists, different but functional, to revitalize the historic center and our production activities", adds the President of the Culture Commission, Enrica Anedda Endrich .

Thanks to the collaboration of the Department of Productive Activities , the exhibited works will be able to have an important space in the city before their works are, at the end of the initiative, housed in the spaces of the Mediterranean Media Library .

The following have joined the exhibition: Lucia Aironi with the work “Arrivi tu”, which transforms the canvas into the pattern of a female bodice, while the fabric becomes the x-ray of portions of the human body; Alessandra Catta exhibiting the 2020 work "Sovrappensiero", made with a piece of blue work coat, with which she investigates the theme of dreams; Antonio Crobu , with a work that turns his attention to the dream world and the uncanny; Gianni Carta , who proposes the repeated, almost obsessive use of anthropomorphic forms that seem stuck in a space-time dimension. And again: the Ukrainian Taras Halaburda who makes fun of the ritual of coffee as a daily gesture, Teresa Pastore who, fascinated by digital illustration, represents a cormorant with red poppies, Letizia Poddighe (born in 2001) who creates works with the use of paper tape. Finally, the Cagliari artist Pietro Serra who reinterprets the theme of the Argia with figures in the throes of spasms on an empty pedestal.
