The queer course, so opposed by the center-right and first of all by the League, does not leave. But it doubles. Not only Sassari, now it also arrives at the University of Cagliari .
Massimo Arcangeli , professor and sociologist at the University of Cagliari, confirmed to Ansa: «For next spring I have already invited Professor Federico Zappino to hold a lesson in my Italian linguistics course and I am working with the University to have his seminar on the topic ».
The linguist's idea is to build "a small path to insert it well didactically next year". For now a seminar is enough, "it can give a strong signal", but it is not excluded that in the future it will become a real course also in Cagliari .
Arcangeli, who wrote a book in which he dismantles “Un mondo al contrario” by Roberto Vannacci , also “invites” the Lega Nord MEP to the course: « Maybe if he were to come, it could be the right opportunity to also escape a little from this fierce climate of polarizations that makes no sense. I attacked him and I take full responsibility for it, but I believe (he has always avoided it, I want to say this publicly), that a public occasion in which we can discuss is necessary. So, if he were to show up at any of my courses, I repeat, as an opportunity to develop a serious discussion, maybe I could then go to his».
Federico Zappino for his part confirms that he has accepted Arcangeli's invitation: «We must always hope that schools and universities encourage the youngest to be drivers of transformation and never of social regression , because when young people are put in the condition of no longer having critical tools to interpret change, to be drivers, agents of change, that's where the regressions are triggered, of which perhaps we already have too much evidence, we must certainly stop this process».
For this reason, the professor from Sassari assures, « I will accept Arcangeli's invitation , who has immediately manifested, like many other national and international professors, his desire to introduce gender and queer theories into his teachings in an even more explicit manner».
The announcement came during the conference "Language, gender identity, people's rights" conceived and organized by the association La Parola che non muore in collaboration with the Giulia Giornaliste Sardegna association. Also present was the rector of Cagliari Francesco Mola, an "important and significant" presence, underlines Professor Zappino .
