In the Italian ranking of 2020, Sardinia is in 16th place - fifth from last - for the number of women managers. Out of a total of 321 executives, 71 women work in private companies in the region, 11.4% of the total.

Cagliari - as regards the provinces - with 42 female managers is 49th, better than Sassari which has 17 and is at number 76. Oristano has only 8 and is at number 93. At the bottom of the ranking Nuoro which, with only 4 managers women, is 101st in Italy.

The data are taken from the traditional Manageritalia Women Report on private executives published as every year on the occasion of Women's Day with an elaboration of INPS data.

In the island, as in other realities in 2020, female managers have grown: the percentage is more than 18.3% compared to 2019, while the total number of executives increased by only 2.08%. But, unlike other areas of the country, the presence of female managers hired by companies is only now becoming a constant, while it had even decreased in the pre-pandemic years. "The strong growth in the number of executives in Sardinia - comments Mario Mantovani, president of Manageritalia - demonstrates how even during the pandemic structured companies have focused on managerial skills and management. For years, new female managers have been seen entering private management, chosen to training, skills and abilities ".
