No one has yet given a definitive answer, affirmative or negative, to Pippo Baudo's last wishes. More than three months after the will of the presenter from Militello in Val di Catania, who passed away on the evening of August 16th at the age of 89, was opened, none of the three listed beneficiaries have formally accepted the inheritance.
Last September 9th, in the office of notary Renato Carraffa in Bracciano, in the province of Rome, Baudo's children, Tiziana and Alessandro, along with the host's lawyers and his longtime assistant for 36 years, Dina Minna, met to open the will: according to rumors, each of the three would receive a third of the inheritance. Equal shares, therefore, between the children and the assistant. A considerable amount of time has passed since then—not enough, ten years, for the inheritance to become time-barred—and it is already speculated that some doubts may have arisen regarding Baudo's estate . The value of the assets, as estimated by some newspapers, could be as high as 10 million euros. This figure, however, leaves room for doubt.
Between television hosting, image rights, and earnings from advertising campaigns, some believe the legacy could be even greater. His substantial real estate assets—estimated at over six million euros—must also be considered, some of which has been sold over time : houses in Rome and Fiano Romano, land in Noto and Syracuse, as well as construction companies in Sicily. Whether the value is more or less than the leaked ten million, none of the beneficiaries have yet said yes to 'Super Goofy's' inheritance.
There has been no shortage of controversy over the portion allocated to assistant Dina Minna, which is supposedly equal to the amount legally allocated to her children. "If all secretaries are treated like this, perhaps I'm in the wrong profession," commented the popular host's ex-wife, opera singer Katia Ricciarelli, who accused Minna of failing to inform her of Baudo's death. The incident ultimately concluded with a warning from the longtime secretary and a call for moderation.
