"Il Lirico al 100%" was the title chosen for the return, with the concert last night on the stage, of the spaces of the Cagliari Opera House to full capacity and after the emergency from Covid-19.

On the podium, in his Cagliari debut, maestro Dmitri Jurowski, who conducted the Lirico orchestra, positioned in the place normally dedicated to operas, the Mystical Gulf, close to the first rows of the stalls, enhancing the acoustics of the theater, already praised by Carlos Kleiber in a memorable concert in Cagliari in the past years.

Unfortunately, however, perhaps also thanks to the strike announced and then to the last retreat of a union, the Libersind, the front rows of the structure remained desolately empty. And therefore for the return to normality we will still have to wait.

"The glimpse of the empty rows was distressing", "it is sad to see the room so empty after a period in which people had to remain closed in the house", are two of the comments from the spectators at the end of the interval.

Jurowski, the youngest descendant of the famous Russian musician family, conducted the orchestral team with brio and intensity. This evening will be repeated at 19.

"The public has become unaccustomed to attending the theater - pointed out the superintendent Nicola Colabianchi - I will work hard with all the means available to bring the spectators back to the theater. A theater of this quality deserves a large audience. We are working on a campaign. widespread advertising, captivating titles and promotion on tickets. The Teatro Lirico, in Cagliari and throughout Sardinia, must be the spokesperson for a return to full normality with its liveliness, activity, as it has already done with streaming in moments of total closure ".

Now we are thinking of the next appointment, with Gluck's Opera "Orfeo ed Euridice", from 12 to 20 November, finally in stage form.
