The League reiterates its support for Christian Solinas in a statement.
" Full trust and full support from the League and we count on the entire center-right, to Christian Solinas and to the team that has governed well in recent years, leading Sardinia to grow ."
The short statement comes from Salvini's press office the day after the minister's visit to Cagliari and his words which many interpreted as a "failure to crown" the president in view of the 2024 regional elections.
The leader of the Northern League yesterday had reiterated the line of the League ("For us, an outgoing governor must be re-nominated") but at the same time he seemed to have bowed in some way to the logic of the coalition and to Fratelli d'Italia which he holds, if only in terms of consensus, the golden share of the center-right .
" I don't impose anything, I have respect for Solinas but we are part of a coalition and it is right that everyone makes their contribution ," he said.
In short, negotiations remain open, time is running out and the League is keen to reiterate its support for Solinas' candidacy for the regional elections on 25 February.
