With depopulation taking away slices of the population from the suburbs to the cities, Sardinia is witnessing an unprecedented wave of emigration. Not only a brain drain, but also a drain of qualified labor.

However, essential facilities cannot be missing : visitors ask for it, residents demand it, who, in many cases, have to travel for miles to find an open bakery, a butcher's shop, a shop that sells so-called basic necessities.

In 2024, the Region has re-proposed the call for just over eight million, already tested in 2023 by the previous executive, to give a chance to those who want to work in the smaller and more peripheral towns of Sardinia, the results of which seem positive.

As reported by the Department of Programming, last year there were 613 applications submitted: 391 companies and 132 freelancers financed. There were approximately 70 hires.
