The 2021 Kata World Championships kicks off today in Lisbon. Among the eighteen called up for the world championship event, Fijilkam has also summoned the one composed by the brothers Ilaria and Nicola Placidi, standard bearers of the Judo club Alghero, who will compete in the Kodokan Goshin Jutsu, a specialty in which they won the silver medal at the Italian Championships 2019. On the occasion, on the Vittorio Veneto mat, behind them came the Sicilians Sergio Loi and Giuseppe Guzzo, also competing in the Lusitanian capital.
Kodokan Goshin Jutsu (Modern Kodokan Forms of Self Defense) is one of the seven recognized Kata. Two athletes (a Tori and a Uke) perform the "forms", pre-established patterns of attack and defense.
Great satisfaction from the technicians of the Alghero company, the masters Gavino and Monica Piredda. In Portugal, 103 couples will compete, representing twenty-five participating nations.
