Beaten in front of a bar in the San Giovanni in Laterano district, in Rome, for being homosexual.

The victim is Simone Baroni, 27, choreographer and former dancer of "Amici".

On the evening of January 15, he told Corriere della Sera, he was in a bar with a group of friends: “While I was leaving for the car with my boyfriend, I stop to talk to two girls who were out there. Out of nowhere a guy starts yelling at me 'can't you see he's f *** o?' and other heavy insults that I would like to avoid reporting. At that point I looked him in the face and replied 'I'm sorry, I didn't understand'. He gets even closer and punches me straight in the face. So. In that instant I immediately picked up the phone, I asked him why he had done it, and in the meantime I picked up everything ”.
At that point, however, “other guys arrived. Four of them surrounded me, screaming 'delete this video, piece of shit' ". Then another punch, always in the face.

The next day Baroni went to the hospital, then straight to the barracks to report everything. In hand the medical report and the video that filmed his attackers: "I denounced this ugly attack to protect all of us and, by 'us', I do not mean the gay community but all people".
