From opera to dance, from tango to jazz: a varied concert is scheduled for Thursday at 8:30 pm in the Sala Sassu of the Sassari Conservatory for the “Spring Concerts” series. The protagonists are Pietro Doronzo on the flute, a multiple winner of competitions and an experimenter of electroacoustic music, and Francesco Monopoli on the piano, who has held over 500 concerts around the world.

The eclectic duo will range across different genres: from Sicilienne op. 78 by Gabriel Fauré to Cantabile et Presto by George Enescu, from Sonata in C minor by Gaetano Donizetti to Shepherd Swiss by Pietro Morlacchi; and then Nightclub 1960 and Concert d'aujord'hui by Astor Piazzolla and the Fantasia brillante on themes from Carmen by François Borne, a tribute to Georges Bizet's masterpiece.

The review of the cultural musical association Ellipsis, in collaboration with the Conservatory "Canepa", is sponsored and enjoys the contribution of the Ministry of Culture, the Region of Sardinia, the Fondazione di Sardegna, the Municipality of Sassari and Ersu. It is the longest-running concert season in the city.
