The flight from the balcony after a night fight: is it really a suicide?
The story of the boyfriend and the doubts of the young woman's family members
Dora Lagreca is a beautiful woman of 30 and works in Potenza as a school assistant. She has long dark hair, big black eyes, skin decorated with different tattoos. For about a year she has been engaged to Antonio Capasso, a little younger.
The two get along on and off: they break up several times, even for many weeks, but then he calls her back and they get back together.
They share a passion for tattoos and motorcycles and when Dora decides to take a two-wheel license, the course gives it to him by Antonio.
In recent times they seem very happy and close-knit: Friday 8 October they always remain embraced at the graduation party of one of their friends.
Then, however, it happens again: they fight in the car and the discussion continues in the small apartment on the fourth floor that Antonio recently rented and where they live together. It's late at night, it's after two o'clock when the couple continues to argue with rather heated tones.
What happens next is only in the boy's words: Dora tells him “now I'm done with it”. He opens the balcony of the studio apartment and throws himself into the void. Maybe she doesn't want to commit suicide, maybe she just wants to prove something to her boyfriend and doesn't calculate the distance from the railing well. Antonio (it is always his story) tries to grab her but fails and Dora falls.
Antonio immediately calls 118 which arrives in seven minutes: the girl is still breathing but the rush to the hospital is useless.
Dora dies.
Meanwhile, Antonio warns his parents while the carabinieri think about Dora's father and mother.
What happened on the night between Friday and Saturday in the studio on the fourth floor?
Did Dora Lagreca really go after a fight with her boyfriend?
Did she just want to pretend, as the boy's entourage speculates, and she crashed for miscalculating?
Or did something else happen?
The facts are not clear at all, it is no coincidence that the Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation to instigate suicide and the boyfriend is under investigation. There are two elements on which the carabinieri are focusing. The first: the girl was completely naked when she fell. The second: before falling into the void she may have clung to the balcony railing in the last attempt to save herself. The Ris carabinieri seized and brought much of the sheet metal covering the parapet to the laboratory. The idea is to look for traces of Dora's DNA.
At first glance the autopsy did not provide useful information to confirm or deny the statements of the boyfriend, so the technical consultants - those appointed by the prosecutor, the experts chosen by the boy's defense and those appointed by the girl's family - have not yet expressed. What we first want to understand, especially on the part of Dora Lagreca's family, is whether the girl suffered any violence before the deadly flight.
According to the public statements of the defense lawyer of the fiancé, at the moment there does not seem to be any elements that could lead to the presumption of a fight or a quarrel in the phases immediately preceding the death. Although, in truth, there was a quarrel between the two, immediately after the graduation party.
To understand it will be necessary to wait for the outcome of all the appraisals and the investigation by the police.
Summing up at this stage would be arbitrary.
