The Italian Football Federation has now officially announced Rimini's exclusion from Group B of Serie C. "The Federal President, having acknowledged that Rimini Football Club srl has been placed into liquidation; in light of Articles 16 and 110 of the NOIF, resolves to revoke Rimini Football Club srl's affiliation, with the loss of membership rights for all members of the same club."
This means that all the players from the Romagna team can already move elsewhere, and it will be interesting to see if anyone could interest Torres, who otherwise would be forced to wait until January to strengthen their squad.
Regarding the impact on the standings, Rimini is eliminated, along with all their results on the pitch. Group B remains at 19 teams, with direct relegation already in place. Torres is now alone at the bottom of the table but can avoid relegation through the playouts. The key is that they remain within eight points of the current fourth-to-last team at the end of the regular season, otherwise they will be relegated to the amateur league without playing. The other pairing for the relegation play-offs will be between the third-to-last and second-to-last teams, with the same rule for point gaps.
The new standings for relegation see Livorno out of the playout with 14 points, followed by Perugia and Pontedera with 12, Bra with 10 and Torres with 8, who will observe a bye due to the cancellation of Rimini, which they were supposed to face on Sunday.
