A discovery made by a very young student, a child who attends the fifth grade in Usini , and which will enrich the city archaeological museum.

The curious discovery took place during a visit of the class in question to tomb 1 of the necropolis in Domus de Janas di Santu Pedru , in Alghero : the typical curiosity of the boys allowed them to discover and recover the precious find, immediately delivered and taken to the center for documentation and cleaning. It is a beautiful pendant with a hole at the end , whose meaning and possible dating are being reconstructed: an amulet, or a pendant made from a brassard (bracelet) of an archer of the III millennium BC, or, a hypothesis entirely from verify, a weight within a Bronze Age weight system.

The archaeologist Gabriella Gasperetti , on the occasion of the presentation of the discovery to the superintendency of Sassari, announced how the find is destined to bring new economic resources for research in the necropolis.

At the presentation of the precious object, alongside the children of the Usini elementary school, also the councilor for culture of the Municipality of Alghero, Alessandro Cocco, and the municipal administration of Usini with the councilor Rita Piras. "We brought the greetings and thanks of the city to the young man and to all his classmates, all together protagonists of this splendid discovery - said Alessandro Cocco - Our archaeological sites , which represent the very distant roots of our identity, are still alive . This new find demonstrates this and reminds us how important it is to make children passionate about history and discovery, even the most casual one. MUSA will soon welcome the stone pendant in its collection ".
