The curtain has finally fallen on one of Hollywood's great love stories: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have reached a divorce agreement. The couple reached an agreement on the details of their separation before a judge in Los Angeles Superior Court . It was JLo who filed for divorce last August, less than two years after saying "I do" in the Little White Wedding Chapel. Unlike Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who took eight years to close their legal battle, the "Bennifers" resolved their differences in a few weeks with the help of a mediator.

The details are top secret, but apparently neither he nor she will pay alimony, while Jen will give up Ben's last name, which she had decided to adopt at the time of the marriage, although not at work, amid protests from many women who had found the decision of the new Mrs. Affleck "discouraging". According to the gossip site TMZ, JLo and Ben will leave the marriage with what they had individually earned and purchased during the two years of the wedding, including the proceeds of their respective businesses in Hollywood. Ben will also keep his share in the production company Artists Equity created with Matt Damon four months after marrying JLo. There is also an agreement on what to do with the 'mansion' they bought together in Los Angeles: the $61 million villa is on the market so far without buyers.

JLo and Ben had first fallen in love in 2001 on the set of Gigli and the following year he had sealed their love story with an engagement ring. In 2003 the couple had been on the verge of getting married, but had never gotten to the wedding. In the following two decades Jen, already behind two divorces from the Cuban entrepreneur Ojani Noa and the dancer and choreographer Chris Judd, had married Marc Anthony (from the wedding the twins Emme and Max were born), then a relationship with the baseball champion Alex Rodriguez, while Ben had brought the actress Jennifer Garner to the altar (three children, Violet, Fin and Samuel, before the divorce in 2018).

The rekindled flame emerged under the flashes of photographers at the Met gala in May 2021, thanks to a kiss through the anti-Covid masks, followed by another kiss, this time on the mouth, on the red carpet of the Venice Film Festival. The private wedding in Las Vegas was replicated in a mega party in the Georgia villa that he had bought during their first engagement, but less than two years later the first signs of crisis emerged: Ben had moved out of the family mansion last summer, while she, after canceling the This Is Me tour, was on vacation with friends in Italy.
