«The reference legislation makes a clear separation of the obligation of reporting of the political formation from that of the individual candidate and attributes the individual controls to two distinct bodies». The verification «of the reports presented by the individual candidates is entrusted to the Regional Electoral Guarantee Board, established at the Court of Appeal of the capital».

The Court of Auditors says so. And it does so in the same provision that according to the M5S would undermine every argument underlying the order-injunction of forfeiture issued on January 3 against the President of the Region Alessandra Todde.

The accounting judges monitored the documents of all the parties that participated in the February 2024 elections: none committed violations. Not even the Movement and the electoral committee connected to the president. "Therefore all the problems with Todde's accounting fall away, case closed": this is the thesis of a flurry of pentastellati exponents.

The judges of the Court of Auditors, however, explain that things are different, saying clearly: we work on the parties, the regional electoral guarantee college provides for the individual candidates. The same body that issued the provision contested by the president, both before the ordinary court (hearing on March 20) and before the Constitutional Court, for conflict of attributions between the State and the Region.

"It is not credible that the Five Star Movement does not know how to read a resolution of the Court of Auditors, which does not concern the reporting of candidate Todde", jokes the leader of the FdI group Paolo Truzzu, "therefore it is evident that they want to create a smokescreen, in clear bad faith, to hide their sloppiness. With the aggravating circumstance that they would like to make their errors appear as a conspiracy of the center-right, while the dispute on the regularity was made by a guarantee body presided over by a magistrate".

The further reply is entrusted to Sabrina Licheri, for the M5s: «The right should resign itself, it has lost. These continuous attempts to delegitimize the Todde council are bordering on the ridiculous», states in a note the Sardinian M5s senator Sabrina Licheri, who accuses Fdi of wanting to replace «the magistrates of the Court of Auditors who certified the absolute regularity and transparency of the expenses, invoices, and reporting of the electoral campaign of President Todde».
