Luigi Contu, with “The books feel alone” (La Nave di Teseo) in the Journalism section, and Ciro Auriemma, with “The blade and the ink” (Piemme) in the Fiction section, are the winners of the fifth edition of the Literary Prize national team Salvatore Cambosu.

The delivery ceremony took place this evening in Orotelli, the birthplace of the writer who passed away in 1962, an exponent of the Sardinian neorealist literary movement. An adventurous journey into the collective history of Italy and the intimate history of a family through the volumes accumulated in the home library from the beginning of the twentieth century to today, in the work of the director of Ansa. A mystery set in 16th century Cagliari in a story inspired by the life of the greatest Spanish writer, the author of Don Quixote Miguel de Cervantes, in the volume by Auriemma from Cagliari.

The competition is organized every two years by the Cambosu Foundation and dedicated to the figure of the great Sardinian intellectual.

The Award Jury was led by president Neria De Giovanni and composed of Duilio Caocci, Simona De Francisci, Tiziana Grassi and Dante Marianacci.

The other finalists: for the Journalism section, "Iran. Il tempo delle donne", by Luciana Borsatti, published by Castelvecchi, and "Un autumn d'agosto" by Agnese Pini, published by Chiarelettere; for the Fiction section, "L'oro degli dei" by Marco Buticchi, published by Longanesi, and "Grande terra sommersa" by Alessandro De Roma, Fandango editore. «In the Journalism section - states the president of the Jury - the winner Luigi Contu was able to retrace pages of the private and public history of our recent past through the family library. In fiction, the winner Ciro Auriemma gave us a sumptuous historical novel where he combined the documented historical presence in Cagliari of Miguel de Cervantes with the fantasy of a gripping, almost cloak-and-dagger noir."

The Cambosu Foundation also awarded the usual recognition to a personality who has distinguished himself for artistic merit. Prize awarded to the Sardinian singer-songwriter Piero Marras.
