The phenomenon of emigration was the focus of an interesting meeting at the Liceo Scientifico "G. Galilei", with the presentation of the book "Desaparecidos", the story of Sardinian emigration to Argentina, with the testimony of survivors, written by Stefania Cuccu. On some important premises, linked to migration, the director Gavina Cappai, the teachers and the students of the fifth classes of the Liceo Scientifico "G. Galilei" decided to host the presentation of the book by the Sardinian writer.
These are pages of real life that focus on a particular period in the history of Sardinian emigration, which Stefania Cuccu wanted to reconstruct . Among these is also the beautiful story of a Sardinian who wanted to fight against the injustice of those Argentine years, showing a path to follow, to teachers, educators and young people who are opening up to the world, therefore that of fighting against all discrimination in favor of a justice that knows no borders. The presentation of the book was then enriched by the direct story of the representative of the association "24 marzo" Walter Calamita who, albeit remotely, in an online connection, provided his contribution in a constructive dialogue with the kids.
The story and the testimonies, in addition to providing useful food for thought on the importance of human rights, also had the merit of helping the kids reflect on how history is not something abstract, theoretical and distant. An invitation, therefore, to make good use of one's time and one's life .
Stefania Cuccu's book, which will be distributed free of charge to all fifth-grade students in high schools in Sardinia , is part of a larger project coordinated by Elio Turis, head of the clubs in central and southern Italy, supported by the clubs of Sardinian emigrants in Charleroi (Belgium) and Hamburg (Germany), and financed by the regional department of work and professional training, cooperation and security of the Region.
