Mario Puddu and Diego Corrias will challenge each other in the ballot in Assemini. On 11 and 12 June, citizens are therefore called to elect the next mayor of the city: the former mayor of Grillino remains in the running, supported by civic and center-right lists, and the center-left candidate at the helm of the Pd-M5s alliance .

Today the second section of the Sardinia Tar rejected, judging it inadmissible, the appeal proposed by the candidate of FdI, FI and Lega Niside Muscas , who finished third with just 9 votes less than Corrias.

The appeal, presented by the lawyer Umberto Cossu, may be re-proposed after the definitive outcome of the second round of consultations . According to the administrative magistrates, the minutes of the electoral office of the Municipality of Assemini cannot be annulled in order to provide for the recount and the resignation of the ballots.

The reason is not of merit but only procedural. Magistrates Marco Lensi, Gabriele Serra and Roberto Montisci refer to the rules which provide that " appeal against all the acts of the electoral procedure is allowed only at the conclusion of the electoral procedure , together with the challenge of the deed of proclamation of the elected".

Four reasons for the appeal put forward by Muscas: the candidate claims that she was not attributed, in the various sections, 22 preferences, and that Corrias was allegedly «unduly recognized, in section 9, five preferences» .

In the first round Puddu obtained 37.79% with 3,896 votes overall, Corrias 31.15% with 3,211 votes and Muscas 31.06% with 3,202 preferences .
