"Will I referee again? Absolutely. I've never considered giving up; it would be like letting violence win. My passion is refereeing, and I'll do it as long as I can." This is what Valentina, the 17-year-old referee, said during the Nuova La Salle-Gioventù Sarroch match, the Sardinian Under-17 team, on February 28th.
The young woman – who served a 45-day prognosis – was awarded a special recognition during the Bearzot Prize ceremony at the CONI Hall.
"I'm thinking," Valentina added, "about continuing my journey, improving so I can get back on the pitch. That's my only goal."
