It is the day of the thaw in the Sardinian centre-right .

The outgoing governor Christian Solinas and the current presidential candidate Paolo Truzzu also showed up at the press point organized for Matteo Salvini's visit . On the other hand, the Minister of Infrastructure and leader of the League declared, "the unity of the centre-right and the good of Sardinia come before party interests" .

«I am happy with what Solinas and his team have done with the League», added Salvini, then announcing «a campaign to guarantee continuity of administration. As a minister, if I'm planning on roads and railways, if we're working on dams, ports and airports, the last thing I hope for is that someone governs who only carries out the no's, with which we get nowhere."

For this reason, he continued, «I am for an absolutely compact centre-right: I will return to Sardinia as secretary of the League and I am confident that we will have an excellent result. The united centre-right, unlike the divided left, will win again."

On the topic of infrastructure, explored in over an hour of speech at the Hotel Regina Margherita in Cagliari, Salvini explained: «For too many decades Sardinia has not been at the center of the development policies of the Roman ministries. In recent months we have accelerated, taken on projects, I am thinking of the billions already invested in ports, airports and motorways, in the Nuoro railway, the only capital of Italy not connected".

The minister recalled that he «asked to fill this delay, this week they brought me the pre-feasibility study. There are four different projects, by September 2024 we will have the project chosen to connect Nuoro to the railway network. We are also accelerating on the dams that have been unfinished for 35 years, on public housing."

After the event and the press point, Salvini met a delegation of trade unions who had requested an interview after this morning's fatal accident at the Porto Canale of Cagliari.

The minister had opened the speech by asking for a minute of silence for the fifty-year-old crushed between two trailers and for Gigi Riva.
