Terna launches the Tyrrhenian Lab and invests a total of 100 million euros over the next five years on the development of specialized skills to face the energy transition, facilitating the process and speeding up its progress.

"In line with its role as director of the energy transition, - reads a note - the company led by Stefano Donnarumma focuses on human capital with an organic and long-term investment in skills considered strategic since they will be enabled to manage related technologies dispatching and future developments in the energy markets ".

The Tyrrhenian Lab project aims to establish, in collaboration with the Universities of Cagliari , Salerno and Palermo, a training center of excellence distributed in the offices of the three respective cities where the cables of the Tyrrhenian Link , Terna's submarine power line, will land. which will unite Campania, Sicily and Sardinia, for a total of 950 km of connection and 3.7 billion euros of investments, favoring the integration of energy flows from renewable sources.

"The Tyrrhenian Lab will allow us to pursue three crucial objectives to accelerate the energy transition process that we face every day: investing in young people , increasing our specialist skills and enhancing the territories ", declared Donnarumma. With this project, Terna will accompany the training of excellent resources, called, in the near future, to contribute to the crucial commitment that the company puts in place every day to guarantee a safe, reliable and state-of-the-art electrical system ".

In detail, thanks to the Tyrrhenian Lab, Terna foresees, between the autumn of 2022 and 2025, the training of more than 150 highly professional figures who will be awarded a 12-month master's degree focused on the development of technological and strategic functional skills to the digital transformation and energy transition of the country.

The training course of excellence will be characterized by a strong mix of classroom study, where lessons will also be held by Terna's managers and technicians, and experience in the field, thanks to the opportunity to undertake an internship period in the company that manages the grid. national broadcast.

With the launch of the first masters, Terna will make three ad hoc offices available in Cagliari, Salerno and Palermo, organized with innovative methods and equipped with highly technological equipment. At full capacity, at least 200 people will work in the Tyrrhenian Lab offices with an induction of 1,000 additional professionals involved .

Once the 12-month master's degree has been completed, students can then be hired at Terna's territorial offices in the three cities.
