"Escape from Asinara" marks the debut of "Theater Under the Stars," a series curated by the Compagnia Teatro Sassari at Tenuta Li Lioni, near Porto Torres. The first of four performances is Thursday at 9:30 p.m.
A comedy in three acts written by Mario Lubino and directed by Alfredo Ruscitto , "Escape from Asinara" is a comic opera that blends Italian and Sassarese dialects to tell the misadventures of Camorra boss Felice Capone, whose escape from the penal colony turns into a daring kidnapping in the historic center of Sassari. With mix-ups and twists, the play draws audiences into a whirlwind of hilarious gags, thanks also to the performances of a close-knit cast including Teresa Soro, Michelangelo Ghisu, Mario Lubino, Eliana Carboni, Claudio Dionisi, Alfredo Ruscitto, Alessandra Spiga, Pasquale Poddighe, and Paolo Colorito .
Other shows - Thursday, August 7th, the comedy "Gran Caffè Astra" will be performed. On the 28th, it will be the turn of "Lu Cuzineri." The show will close on September 11th with the show "Cant'è mara la fammi," an adaptation of two one-act plays, edited like the other titles by Mario Lubino and directed by Alfredo Ruscitto .
