The first edition of the "Bernardo De Muro" International Opera Competition, promoted by the Bernardo De Muro ETS Foundation, concluded at the Teatro del Carmine in Tempio Pausania. For several days, the competition transformed the Gallura town into a hub for international opera singing. Nearly two hundred entries from Europe, Asia, America, and Australia were selected. The final evening saw the performances of the ten finalists and the awarding of prizes to the top three, along with the Critics' and Sponsors' Awards. First prize went to Russian baritone Anton Beliaev, recognized for his interpretive and vocal qualities. He also received a special recognition offered by the sponsor "Gruppo Guccini Costruzioni – Architettura e Costruzioni Sardegna-Puglia." Second prize went to Italian soprano Alessia Camarin, from Portogruaro-Venice, who also received the Critics' Award from the National Association of Music Critics. Third place went to Tanzanian-American soprano Elizabeth Hanje, who also won the ITS Academy TAC Sardegna Award.
"The conclusion of this edition is a moment of great satisfaction for us," said Fabrizio Ruggero, artistic director of the Bernardo De Muro Foundation. "The International Opera Competition was created with the aim of creating new opportunities for young singers and, at the same time, making Tempio Pausania an international reference point for the training, promotion, and appreciation of opera in the name of Bernardo De Muro."
