The strike in the aviation and railway sectors by railway handling and procurement staff starts at 1pm today and will last until 5pm.

The abstention from work was proclaimed by the transport unions Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Uiltrasporti and Ugl Trasporto aero and by the grassroots unions Usb and Cub for the renewal of the national contract, which expired at the end of 2017.

The protest essentially concerns those responsible for loading and unloading baggage and runway services. Initially lasting 24 hours, the strike was reduced to 4 hours with an order signed by the Minister of Transport, Matteo Salvini. The local public transport strike, called by the grassroots unions, which was also scheduled for today, was also ordered and reduced from 24 to 4 hours: but in the face of the intervention, the USB decided to postpone the stop by 24 hours to October 9th .

In the airline sector, Easyjet flight attendants fold their arms, again for 4 hours and from 1pm to 5pm, demanding better working conditions: the strike is proclaimed by Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl and Uiltrasporti. In the aviation sector there is also a 4-hour stop proclaimed by Cub transport. And again a 4-hour strike, at the end of each work shift, for railway contracts called at national level by Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Ugl, Fast Confsal and Orsa: these are train and station cleaning services , on-board catering, accompaniment on night trains and small maintenance. In this case the workers ask for the financial adjustment of the meal voucher.

Disruptions and delays are also expected at Cagliari Elmas airport where a sit-in will take place in front of the departures area in the morning.
