Procurement workers of the Grazia Deledda power plant, in Portovesme, in the square this morning for the first day of protest that led to a two-and-a-half hour strike, with information at the gates, in view of the announced closure of the Sulcis power plant and of that of Fiume Santo, in Porto Torres , scheduled for 2025 in the wake of the decarbonization project.

The workers have expressed the fear that it is the contracts that suffer most from the stop, because if direct workers can be reinstated or moved to other places, they will remain out.

"There is a strong concern because there are still no plans for the relocation of these workers in view of the arrival of methane in the island - said Bruno Usai of Cgil del Sulcis -, this is the umpteenth factory that will lose jobs. I work in an area already tormented by insane unemployment and an economic crisis. Once again we ask politics to speak up and find solutions to this new employment drama for the area ".
