Mario Desiati triumphs at the “Premio Strega 2022” .

A victory announced (it was given as superfavorito) in an edition that will remain in the history of the most coveted Italian literary recognition for being the first with 7 authors in the final.

During the award ceremony in Rome, Desiati won it with 166 votes for his “Spatriati” (Einaudi).

Second place for Claudio Piersanti (“Quel cursed Vronskij”, Rizzoli), while the third was placed by Alessandra Carati (“And then we'll be safe”, Mondadori).

In “Spatriati”, Desiati, born in 1977 and originally from Locorotondo, in Puglia, tells the story of Francesco and Claudia, young Italians who emigrated to Berlin.
