For such an overwhelming global success as that of “ Stranger Things ” - the Netflix television series inspired by 80s pop culture with strong references to the horror atmospheres of John Carpenter's cinema - it is difficult to respond by lightly accepting its inevitable epilogue. But after the fourth season released in 2022 it would seem that the plans relating to the future of the series envisage the fifth - probably due out in 2025 - the end of a journey undertaken in 2016, which in fact marked with its load of imagination and adrenaline an entire era imposing itself to all intents and purposes as a mass and customary phenomenon.

Once again, the strike of writers and actors in the United States has led to an abrupt change of direction from the initial plans for the making of new episodes. Initially the idea was to start filming in June 2023 and then complete the work by June 2024, but the Duffer Brothers themselves - co-authors of the television serial - communicated clearly that the production phases would inevitably be postponed if not an agreement had been reached between the parties on the merits of the protests.

To date, therefore, we can certainly say that fans will not see the new episodes before two years. In the midst of this interminable wait, the declarations of Joe Keery - interpreter of the character of Steve Harrington - find further strength in an interview on behalf of Women's Wear Daily and as reported by Deadline above all commented on the displeasure, for the public as for those who took part in the project, having to say goodbye to the show, recognizing in particular the melancholic moment that everyone - somehow - is already experiencing. Here are his statements:

«It was objectively time. But it won't be easy to say goodbye to the show. I mean, I owe my entire career to this show, all the opportunities I've had since then have come because of it. So it's something quite convoluted. There is a certain relief that comes over you, but also sadness. And I guess my goal is to fully experience it while it lasts, and never take anything for granted, because it's really been an amazing adventure with amazing people. And then, once it's over, I'll go on my way clinging to what has been the joy of this experience». The actor then concluded by saying: «Everything has a beginning, a middle and an end. And it will be nice to have an end for Stranger Things as well ».

Aware that we still know very little about what we could expect from the fifth season, we keep the promises shared with the fans by the Duffers and their consolidated team, which point to a conclusion to the story not only worthy of the name, but superior to any best expectation. In the meantime, the world of Stranger Things will still have the opportunity to continue through a new official animated series and with the live action spin-offs put in place by Netflix. We are ready to bet that they too will not go unnoticed by the incurable lovers of this universe.
