Victoria Beckham breaks her silence on the rift between her family and her eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, in a new interview with the Wall Street Journal. "We love our children very much," she said. "We've always tried to be the best parents we can be. And you know, we've been in the spotlight for over 30 years, and all we've ever tried to do is protect and love our children. And you know, that's all I wanted to say about that."

Brooklyn, 27, released a harsh statement on social media in January, saying not only that he had no intention of reconciling with his parents but also accused them of having “controlled him for most of his life.”

David and Victoria haven't spoken to Brooklyn since last May, when he and his wife, Nicola Peltz, skipped the former soccer player's 50th birthday celebrations. Shortly before Christmas, Brooklyn blocked his parents on Instagram and in January posted a brutal and shocking six-page letter on the social media platform.

He claimed that David and Victoria controlled him for much of his life, tried to separate him from Nicola, and embarrassed him when his mother danced “inappropriately” with him during his first dance at his wedding.

The Beckhams have three other children: Romeo (23), Cruz (21) and Harper (14).
