The launch of the TV series about Sarah Scazzi entitled “Avetrana – Qui non è Hollywood” has been postponed «to comply with the provision issued in the absence of a hearing between the parties by the Court of Taranto» .

This was announced by the production company Greenland and Disney, which was supposed to broadcast the series starting from October 25 on its streaming platform.

Disney and Greenland announce: "The parties - it is specified in a statement - do not agree with the court's decision and will assert their reasons in the appropriate venues" .

Yesterday the court accepted the urgent appeal filed by the mayor of Avetrana Antonio Iazzi , ordering the precautionary suspension of the broadcast of the TV series.

The Avetranese community, the mayor said, "has always tried to distance itself from the many prejudices dictated by the murder, since the tragedy caused dismay in the community, affected by a massive media resonance". The lawyers of the Municipality had requested the suspension of the broadcast of the TV series because in their opinion it was " essential to preview it in order to ascertain whether the association of the name of the town with the film adaptation arouses a defamatory effect, representing it as an ignorant, backward, silent community, possibly dedicated to the commission of brutal crimes of such magnitude, contrary to reality".

Sarah Scazzi, 15, was killed and thrown into a well on August 26, 2010. Sabrina Misseri and Cosima Serrano , the victim's cousin and aunt, were definitively sentenced to life in prison, while her uncle, Michele Misseri, accused of suppression and concealment of a corpse, was released from prison last February after serving 8 years in prison. Once released, the man gave several television interviews, accusing himself of the crime again, just like when he was arrested and allowed the body to be found in Contrada Mosca in October 14 years ago.
