From student to junior, Diego Nappi, the sprinter from Porto Torres, has been called up to the European Under-20 Championships, which will be held in Tempere, Finland, from August 7 to 10. The European Under-18 200m champion will wear the Italian national team jersey in the 200m and 4x100m relay. The holder of the Italian 200m record with 20.79 seconds in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, and then 20.86 seconds in Savona, he is among the 91 athletes called up, 45 men and 46 women, including Elisa Marcello of CUS Cagliari (4x100m) and Laura Frattaroli of Tespiense Quartu (4x400m). Nappi, coached by Marco Trapasso, recently moved from Atletica Lèggerà Porto Torres to Fiamme Oro, a professional athlete in the State Police sports group. Her coach is thrilled to have received her third international call-up, both at the European Championships and the World Championships. At the Under-20 World Championships in Lima, she was unable to run the relay due to injury.
