Sofia Goggia's 27th World Cup victory saw her win the Val d'Isere Super-G in 1:20:24, immediately making up for Saturday's unfortunate downhill.
The Italian Olympian, with her fourth career victory on the French Oreiller-Killy track, preceded New Zealander Alice Robinson (1.20.39): once again the protagonist on the podium was the American Lindsey Vonn, 41 years old, who in 1.20.60 left the other Italian Elena Curtoni in fourth place (1.20.97).
For Italy, in a race that was also partially disturbed by the wind at high altitude, Roberta Melesi was further back in 1.21.29 and Elena Pirovano from Trentino, penalized by an error, in 1.21.46.
Now, the World Cup is taking a short Christmas break. The Italian women will be back in competition next weekend in Austria, on Semmering, the Viennese mountain, with a giant slalom on Saturday and a special on Sunday.
