Sardinia's sports population is growing: the number of people practicing soccer, tennis, and martial arts is growing. With a surprise explosion: climbing .
The president of the regional CONI, Bruno Perra , took stock of the situation for 2025: "It's not just traditional sports; sports culture is expanding . We've had great success, from results on the field to relationships with institutions. Even with the regional Department of Transport, which is crucial for managing travel for Sardinian athletes."
Perra spoke about the success of Sport gioventude, the project for promoting sports in schools: over 7,000 hours of lessons were completed, involving more than 5,000 students . The Giovani vispi program, which promotes inclusion through sports, also performed well, with approximately 10,000 applications .
The focus then turned to facilities: "We hope to soon see the new Cagliari stadium, as well as the arenas in Cagliari and Sassari . But I've also seen great progress in Oristano. And we're paying close attention to all the developments, even in the inland towns."
"2026," the CONI president announced, "will be a crucial year: simply confirming what we achieved in 2024 and 2025 will not be easy. We've also achieved some great results at the competitive level. We hope to repeat them. In terms of events, we're hosting several of international standing."
